Playing A Musical Instrument

Many great things can come with being able to play a musical instrument, learning to play an instrument of course requires many skill and if it was that easy anyone and everyone would be able to do it. Many music artist are also able to play a musical instrument and often creates a  different viewing experience when they are performing. A few things that one can benefit when playing a musical instrument according to Music In the Hemispheres by Rachel Ehrenberg being able to play a musical instrument has in fact enhanced many aspects to a regular person's brain. Playing a musical instrument “helps give the brain a boost” benefits range from: memory capacity increase, better time management and organizational skills, enhances coordination skills, improves reading, exposure of cultural history, helps you concentrate, teaches discipline and boost listening skills. Theres are just a few example that are listen in benefits of playing a musical instrument.
When playing a musical instrument often times musicianist are trying to push themselves to advance, music is a form of art in order to make the correct sound to create the desired sound you must practice and practice. This is how discipline comes into play when you are constantly practicing you are correcting your mistakes and trying to pick up the correct way to play. Pushing yourself to do something correctly and along the way correcting your mistakes. Concentration sharpness when playing a musical instrument is very important when you are trying to focus on things like playing on time,on the right note, being on rythme or with the beat. As well as playing with others in a group you have to make sure you are all in harmony. Being able to keep up, along with be focused and knowing when it's your turn to play requires a lot of concentration and focus. Listening skills is also very important when playing a musical instrument you must be able to distinguish different pitches when playing the instrument and correct your self or others if something does not sound correct. Listening of course is key, you must sound good in order for your audience to be engaged. Hand and Eye coordination is also important when playing a musical instrument, you must be able to either be actively reading/ paying attention to musical notes. Hand eye coordination is a big one many master this and know exactly where to place there hand/foot depending what instrument without even looking. They familiarize themselves with their instrument with lost of practice.
Not only are music artist great entertainers but some also have been known to be great musicians as well. John legend for one in the 2014 grammys had a mesmerizing performance while playing “glory” on the piano, able to entertain the audience with a different twist to performance by actually playing a musical instrument is a great factor to really selling out a show. Playing a musical instrument requires many skills and as stated before if it were easy anyone would be able to do it. Theses are just but a few example that are essential when playing a musical instrument, all instruments are different and will be requiring different skills.
