the love hate relationship with mumble rappers

When it comes to trap music we oversee the lyrics and listen only to the beat. The beat behind the lyrics is the only reason why most mumble rappers succeed. They throw a word or two over a sick beat and boom it's hit single rising to the top of the chart. As listeners we are left thinking to ourselves why do we like these mumble rappers?. Well in today's blog I will be talking about the love hate relationship we have towards mumble rappers.

First thing first what is mumble rapping. Mumble rapping is defined as rappers that make music with lyrics very difficult to understand or rappers that make a song with very basic lyrics and use ad libs (Ay and yuh) to make it sound creative and appealing. Rappers nowadays are all mumble rappers in which I talked about in one of my previous blogs. The start of 2015 was the new era for the rap industry it was the new horrific beginning of mumble rapping. Lyrics were getting useless and beats had more bass to them. Older rappers started to get played out and not recognized by major record labels.

The only reason mumble rap had a major exposure to the rap industry and still does is because of the less talking and more bass. Some people just like the background beat instead of the lyrics and in fact is the reason on why songs are great according to them. With ad libs like Ay and Yuh make it more appealing to certain people. In fact it is true to be the fasted way to remember a song because it's less talking. Also mumble rap is a trend for dances such as “hit them folks”, “dabbing”, and “the whip”. Most popular dances are danced to mumble rap songs causing it to be more attracted towards children as well. Who can resist liking a song that a 4 year old can sing and dance to with not hesitation.

On the other hand other people hate mumble rap because it's repetitive and waste of time. Mumble rap is not rap because its talentless and fake. For example, lyrics like “B**** im hella rich, Ay F***ing on yo B****, Ay Made her suck my D***, Ay Nutted on her lip, Ay” is pointless. Yes its basic as hell an appealing to those who don't like real rap. Most People hate how all mumble rappers do is talk about how they messed with a female or buy this and that. Back in the days there was a thing called “keep silent” what happened to that. Mumble rappers are snitching on themselves and making it hard for others to make it in the rap industry.

In conclusion, mumble rapping is where rappers only say Ay or Yuh on top of a sick beat that gets you into the song. We like the mumble rapping because its a trend that is following the dancing trends and has little kids more attracted to it. We hate mumble rapping because its not real rap and its fake doesn’t have a meaning or purpose. The next time you listen to lil uzi or lil pump or lil whatever listen to what they are saying and look in the mirror and say it to yourself. You’ll find out that you are a fan of the music or not.
